Last night EU negotiators agreed the final text of the European Performance of Buildings Directive, defining energy efficiency targets aiming at decarbonising EU buildings and key measures to use rooftop solar to cover the remaining electricity demand. ☀
It means we’ll see solar installations required on:
🏥 New public and commercial buildings by 2026
🏪 Non-residential buildings that undergo a relevant renovation by 2027
🏠 New residential buildings by 2029
🏤 Existing public buildings in a stepwise approach by 2030
